Bats in Your Home? We Remove Them and Keep Them Out.

Humane bat removal, guano cleanup and exclusion around Lake Oconee.

High Priority Pest Services handles bat problems from start to finish. We remove the bats, clean up and disinfect the guano, and close the openings so they cannot get back in. Bat work is done under a service agreement.

Signs you may have bats

  • Droppings (guano) piled under a roofline gap, on a porch or in the attic
  • Scratching or squeaking in the walls or attic around dusk and dawn
  • Dark grease stains around small openings at the roofline, soffit or chimney
  • Bats seen leaving the house at dusk
  • A strong musty odor in the attic or walls

What we do

Bat removal. We inspect the whole roofline to find every opening. Then we install one-way exclusion devices that let the bats leave at night but not get back in. We do not trap or handle them.

Guano cleanup and disinfection. We clean up and disinfect the areas where bats have been.

Bat exclusion. Once the bats are out, we close the openings so they cannot get back in. We seal gaps at the roofline, soffits, fascia, vents, chimney and gable ends with durable materials such as galvanized hardware cloth, metal flashing and exterior-grade sealant.

When we do bat exclusions

Georgia wildlife officials advise against excluding bats from April 1 through July 31, when the pups cannot fly and can be trapped inside. We schedule exclusions outside that window. If you hear or see bats during those months, call us and we will inspect and plan the work.

Service agreement

Bat work is done under a written service agreement. It lists the openings we seal, the work covered, and any warranty on that work. We go over it with you before we start.

Questions People Ask

Do you hurt the bats?

No. We use one-way exclusion devices so the bats leave on their own, and we do not trap or handle them.

When can bats be removed?

Georgia wildlife officials advise against excluding bats from April 1 through July 31, when the pups cannot fly. We schedule exclusions outside that window.

Should I clean up the droppings myself?

We recommend against it. Dried bat droppings can carry a fungus that causes histoplasmosis. We remove the guano and disinfect the area.

How do I know if it is bats or bat bugs?

Bat bugs look almost the same as bed bugs and live where bats roost. We confirm what you have under magnification. See our bed bug page.

How much does bat removal cost?
