Hornet & Wasp Extermination

Protect your property from dangerous nests with immediate response and precision removal services.

A wasp nest is the one pest problem that turns urgent without warning. A paper wasp nest under a porch rail is a nuisance in June and a hospital visit in August, when colonies are at peak size and far more defensive.

We remove nests — in eaves, soffits, attics, sheds, playsets, grills, wall voids and in the ground — and we treat the surfaces they keep coming back to. Service is available within 24 hours, and for a nest near a door, a child’s play area or anyone with a sting allergy, call and say so. That moves you up the list.

What we deal with

  • Yellowjackets — Ground nests and wall voids. The most aggressive of the group and the most common cause of multiple stings.
  • Bald-faced hornets — The large grey papery footballs in trees and under eaves. Highly defensive within several feet of the nest.
  • Paper wasps — Open umbrella-shaped combs under railings, eaves, grills and playsets.
  • European hornets — Large, active at night, drawn to lights and known for stripping bark from shrubs.
  • Mud daubers — Muddy tubes on walls and ceilings. Rarely aggressive, but the abandoned nests attract other pests.

How we do it

  1. Identify the species, because a ground yellowjacket nest and a paper wasp comb are not the same job.
  2. Find every entry point. A wall void or soffit nest often has more than one, and sealing the wrong one drives them into the house.
  3. Treat the nest directly, using extension equipment for high or hard-to-reach locations.
  4. Remove the nest where it is safe and practical to do so.
  5. Treat the surrounding surfaces so the site is not immediately re-colonized, and tell you what to seal.

Why you should not do this one yourself

Store-bought aerosol works on a small, exposed paper wasp comb in daylight. It is a poor idea on anything else.

Yellowjackets in the ground or in a wall will pour out of an entrance you did not know about. Bald-faced hornets defend a radius, not just the nest. And the standard homeowner mistake — spraying a wall void and then sealing the hole — sends a few hundred confused wasps looking for another way out, which is frequently into the room on the other side.

If someone in the household is allergic, treat this as a call, not a project.

Keeping them from coming back

  • Knock down starter nests early — In April and May, a nest is the size of a golf ball and one wasp. That is the cheapest time to deal with it.
  • Keep bins sealed — Yellowjackets turn to protein and sugar in late summer, which is why they show up at trash cans and cookouts.
  • Seal soffit and siding gaps — Most wall-void nests start at a gap smaller than a pencil.
  • Check before you use it — Grills, playsets, boat covers, meter boxes and outdoor furniture that sat unused for a few weeks.

Frequently Asked Questions

How fast can you come out?

Service is available within 24 hours of signup. If the nest is by a door, over a play area, or someone has a sting allergy, say so when you call and we will prioritize it.

Do you remove the nest or just treat it?

Both, where it is safe to reach. Some nests in wall voids are treated and left in place, which is standard and does not attract anything.

Will they come back to the same spot?

Some species reuse good locations. We treat the surrounding surfaces and tell you what to seal so it is less attractive next season.

What about honeybees?

We do not treat honeybee colonies as a pest. If you have a honeybee swarm or hive, call us and we will point you to a beekeeper who will remove it.

Is one treatment enough?

Usually, for a single nest. If activity continues, call us — re-treatment between visits is included for plan customers at no charge.

Can you get to a nest under a second-storey eave?

Yes. We carry extension equipment for high and awkward locations.
